The Past and Present of the Portrait of Tsai Fu-Yi

The Past and Present of the Portrait of Tsai Fu-Yi

On display

The "#The Past and Present of the Portrait of Tsai Fu-Yi" Exhibition, hosted by the Kinmen County Cultural Affairs Bureau, will grandly open this Sunday, January 23 at the Kinmen Museum of History and Folklore. All friends and community members are warmly invited to join this special event.

The Portrait of Tsai Fu-Yi is the only known surviving painting that captures the detailed appearance of Cai Fu-Yi. It is also one of the earliest and most prestigious ancestral portraits from the Ming Dynasty still preserved in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. The painting dates back to the late Ming Tianqi period (early 17th century, around 1625 CE).

On the opening day, guests will receive a complimentary copy of the book "Vivid Depiction: A Study of the Important Kinmen Cultural Relic – The Portrait of Cai Fu-Yi." We sincerely invite you to attend this meaningful event and explore the legacy of this historical treasure.
